With more than 20 years of experience in the cryogenic trucking business, transporting hazardous cargos such as liquefied natural and propane gases, Green Fleet Systems' father/son team of Gary and Kyle Mooney have built, since 2007, an expanding logistics business with a focus around the new Clean Action Initiative. They began with a grant to buy 14 Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) fueled tractor-trailers, and shortly thereafter acquired Pac-Rim Container Service, Inc., a leader in the harbor drayage business for over 20 years. After taking over full operations of Pac-Rim's assets, they have continued to service all former customers of Pac-Rim while adding additional customers. Continuing to expand their Clean Action Initiative, additional LNG tractors have been added and the rest of their purchased fleet have been refitted with newer diesel engines that are more efficient, burn cleaner and meet the Clean Action Initiative's requirements.
Green Fleet Systems' geographic expansion to Savannah was a logical one. Seventy-five percent of U.S. consumers, roughly 215 million people, are east of a line drawn from Dallas to Chicago. The Port of Savannah is strategically located to reach 44% of the U.S. population. Savannah is also ranked 4th in the top 10 U.S. Ports, with a 10-year average growth of 11.5%. Green Fleet's new Long Beach facilities are strategically located within 8 miles of the Port of Long Beach, with direct rail services in addition to its yard and warehouse facility operations.
