Users Can Now Conveniently Redeem Their Kiip Rewards in Apple’s Digital Wallet Tool
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kiip today announced Apple Passbook integration to enable easier redemption of Kiip rewards for users’ moments of achievement in mobile games and apps. Apple Passbook coupons for Kiip rewards will be redeemable directly from reward notifications, Kiip reward emails and the Kiip App.
Currently in beta testing, Kiip’s integration with Apple Passbook will soon be available to all brand partners. Unveiled in Apple’s new version of its iOS 6 mobile operating system, Passbook is a new tool for managing boarding passes, movie tickets, retail coupons, loyalty cards and now Kiip rewards all in one place. Users can simply scan their iPhone or iPod touch to receive their reward.
“As soon as Apple Passbook was announced, we sought to capitalize on its potential as an additional outlet for redemption of Kiip rewards,” said Brian Wong, CEO and co-founder of Kiip. “To date, 30 percent of our real rewards campaigns involve coupons, so it made sense to pursue this. We first launched the Kiip App to create the best redemption experience possible for users, and this integration augments that ease and convenience by literally putting rewards in our users’ pockets. Supporting this activity from the consumer side is a step in the right direction and places the ball in their court. We look forward to more retailers supporting mobile coupon and voucher redemption.”
There are currently more than 500 Kiip-enabled games and apps, including multiple games and apps from leading developers Kira Games (Unblock Me), Playforge (Zombie Farm), Get Set Games (Mega Jump) and MapMyFitness (MapMyRUN GPS Running). The company’s network includes more than 40 leading brands in a variety of industries, from 1-800-Flowers.com and American Apparel to Best Buy, Dr Pepper, Kraft, McDonald’s, Pepsi, Popchips, Procter and Gamble, Sony, Verizon Wireless and Wrigley.
Launched in 2011, Kiip developed an entirely new approach to bringing brands closer to consumers: a platform that enables brands the opportunity to engage and reward their customers while they are engaged in their favorite games or apps. The network enables a user to be serendipitously rewarded in “moments of achievement” – such as reaching a particular level on a game, running or walking a specified distance, finishing a to-do list, sharing a photo album or other milestones. Kiip has proven to be a highly effective mobile engagement platform for Fortune 500 brands striving to connect with consumers on their smartphones. Kiip’s platform experiences initial engagement rates of 18 to 22 percent for rewards from its brand partners, and a 50-percent engagement rate for users who have previously redeemed a Kiip reward.
Kiip is the world’s first mobile rewards network that delivers rewards for achievements in apps and games. The company’s category-creating rewards platform enables brands to reach consumers in the moments when they are most engaged and receptive, while driving revenues and greater user allegiance for Kiip-enabled games and apps. Kiip was founded in 2010 by Brian Wong, Courtney Guertin and Amadeus Demarzi. In addition to its San Francisco headquarters, Kiip now has offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and London. Kiip is currently backed by Relay Ventures, Hummer Winblad, True Ventures, Digital Garage, Verizon Ventures, Crosslink Capital and others. For more information, visit www.kiip.com.
