ICSC/Goldman Sachs release chain store sales for the week ended Sept. 15, versus the prior week, 7:45 a.m. (1145 GMT). In the previous week, sales rose 0.6 percent.

Redbook releases its Retail Sales Index of department and chain store sales for September versus August, 8:55 a.m. (1255 GMT). In the prior period, sales rose 1.7 percent.

The Institute for Supply Management-New York releases September index of regional business activity, 9:45 a.m. (1345 GMT). In August, the index read 560.5.

U.S. automakers release September auto sales, no set time. Economists in a Reuters survey expect annualized sales of 5.29 million in domestic cars, 6.20 million domestic trucks. In August, the figures were 5.38 million cars and 6.17 million trucks.
