- The median forecast in a Reuters poll was for the consumer price index to gain 0.6 percent in September from a month before and by 2.0 percent from a year earlier.

- The annual inflation in September set its first acceleration since November last year, although still staying well below the central bank's 3 percent target.

- The annual core inflation, that strips off volatile food and fuel prices, ticked up to 1.4 percent in September from 1.3 percent in August to accelerate for the second consecutive month.
