British TV and media group ITV edges up in high trading volumes following renewed bid speculation, traders say.
Britain's Daily Mail cites speculation linking ITV to a wide-ranging group of potential suitors, ranging from private equity firms to other rival media companies.
ITV is up 1.4 percent at 91.20 pence in early morning trade - close to a 52-week high of 92.25 pence and outperforming a flat FTSE 100 .
ITV is also one of the most heavily traded stocks, with trading volumes at around 60 percent of their 90-day average, nearly three times that on the broader index.
"Whilst there's momentum in the story, it won't go away. It would be very foolish to bet against a bid story," says a London-based trader.
