Kum & Go Pledge to Benefit Toys for Tots

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Giving back has never been so easy, or delicious. Through the new "Drink good. Do good." campaign at Kum & Go convenience stores in Missouri and 10 other states, coffee and cappuccino lovers can help buy toys for underprivileged children just by purchasing their favorite warm beverage. Kum & Go has committed to a minimum contribution of $100,000.

"Whether you need a large black coffee on your way to work or a Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino for an afternoon pick-me-up, every hot beverage purchase you make at Kum & Go this fall will help buy toys and books for underprivileged children during the holidays," said David Miller, Kum & Go Senior Vice President of Marketing.

Throughout the year, Kum & Go gives back 10 percent of all profits to the communities in which it operates. For the past three years, the convenience retailer has raised additional money to help the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Last year, Kum & Go raised $164,000 for Toys for Tots.

Check in. Give back.
Beginning on Oct. 1, 2012, through Dec. 7, 2012, Kum & Go will donate 5 cents for every hot beverage purchased. In addition, Kum & Go will donate $1 (up to $10,000) each time a customer "checks in" to a Kum & Go store through the free social app, foursquare.

Customers can make additional monetary donations to Toys for Tots at Kum & Go stores, which will also serve as toy collection sites during the holiday season.

During the "Drink Good. Do Good." campaign, Kum & Go fans will enjoy weekly giveaways on Twitter, toy trivia on Facebook and donation updates at www.kumandgo.com/toysfortots.

Millions in need
Nearly 22 percent of American children live below the poverty line, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

"Finding a present under the tree on Christmas morning is an experience every child deserves," said Bill Grein, vice president, marketing and development of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. "Kum & Go has done so much to help us bring that joy to children in need. With their pledge of at least $100,000 for our 2012 campaign, we will be able to fulfill the Christmas dreams of over 10,000 children."
