WHAT: Digi-Key’s Continuing Education Center presents Understanding Smart Sensors. The lecturer for this session is Randy Frank, president of Randy Frank & Associates, Ltd., a consultancy that focuses on sensors, power, and automotive electronics. At Motorola, Frank was actively involved in the introduction of highly integrated pressure sensors and accelerometers that used microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. Previously, he was responsible for the development of the first engine control systems, including all of the sensing aspects, for American Motors and Jeep vehicles, now part of the Chrysler Group. During that time, he taught advanced instrumentation and control at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Frank is a fellow in both the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the author of the book Understanding Smart Sensors, which is in its second edition. The third edition is scheduled for release in 2012. Sign up with Digi-Key now!
