Kris Looney named President of Emergent
Brian Windsor appointed Executive Vice President and Director of Life Sciences
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Emergent Technologies, Inc. Kris Looney has been named President and Brian Windsor appointed Executive Vice President and Director of Life Sciences.

Newly appointed Emergent President Kris Looney has been with the company for seven years. He initially joined Emergent as Business Development Director where he had an immediate impact establishing key profitable partnerships. Then, as Managing Director and later as President of three Emergent portfolio companies, he applied his experience in technology development, commercialization and partnering and became a driver in modeling the innovation engine the company now employs to accelerate technology into the marketplace. Mr. Looney is a business generalist with a diverse background in management, marketing, sales and relationship-building. Prior to joining Emergent, Mr. Looney served as the COO and Interim CEO of the American Red Cross of Central Texas and as the CFO of Transformation Enzyme Corporation. Mr. Looney holds a B.A. degree in marketing and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
In another senior management change, Brian Windsor, Ph.D., has been appointed Executive Vice President and Director of Life Sciences with responsibility for overseeing Emergent’s current portfolio of life science opportunities as well as establishing the direction for future life science endeavors. Dr. Windsor has been involved in research, development and management of startup life science companies for the past 14 years, eight of them with Emergent. Dr. Windsor has served in a number of roles in ten of Emergent’s portfolio companies including Chief Scientist, Chief Technical Officer, President and Managing Director. He has led many of the company’s life science-related services such as technical strategy for third-party startup companies and technology identification services for clients like Merck Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Windsor is the co-inventor on numerous patents. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Texas at Austin.
