WASHINGTON, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- More than 100 Lowe's Heroes employee volunteers will descend upon the Cherry neighborhood in Charlotte alongside partners Rebuilding Together and Carter's Kids Oct. 3 and 4 to provide critical repairs to six homes and install a new playground at Cherry Park. The Rebuild-a-Block project will engage local volunteers to assist fellow Charlotteans with critical repair projects like roof repair, porch replacement, carpet installation, paint and installation of handrails.

"For several years, Lowe's has partnered with Rebuilding Together and Carter's Kids to rebuild and revitalize communities and playgrounds throughout the country. Carter Oosterhouse, HGTV star and founder of Carter's Kids, will also lead the volunteers in installing a brand new, customized playground at Cherry Park. The playground will be built on public grounds so that the local community and students of Community Charter School can use it for play and exercise. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at Noon on Oct. 4.
