VMworld Europe 2012 and Citrix Synergy 2012: Silicon storage pioneer talks up performance at forthcoming virtualization conferences
WHIPPANY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WHIPTAIL is taking the road to Barcelona in October to champion performance for virtualization projects at VMworld Europe (booth G305), October 9-11 and Citrix Synergy (booth 302), October 17-19, 2012. Delegates at both shows will learn how silicon storage technology can negate costly pitfalls in deploying flexible virtual desktop infrastructures and meet demand for faster operations and lower total cost of ownership.
At VMworld Europe, Darren Williams, WHIPTAIL’s EMEA & APAC SE Director will take to the stand to dispel some of the myths surrounding virtualization and the role of the storage infrastructure. In his session “Removing the storage bottleneck for VDI and server virtualization,” Williams will address why traditional spinning disk storage is no longer viable for today’s levels of data consumption and how the revolution in all-Flash arrays can both ‘de-risk’ projects and protect those investments for years to come.
Brian Feller, VP and GM at WHIPTAIL EMEA, commented: “Organizations of all shapes and sizes are dealing with the on-going struggle of moving their data fast enough to support the business. They also want to build flexible delivery into their IT infrastructures and business applications. Being able to cope with changing market demands and business requirements, as well as save money through longer hardware lifecycles, fewer resources and better mobile access means that the HDD’s days are numbered. It’s no longer about cost per gigabyte; it’s now about cost per input/output per second (CPIOPS) or the cost to solve the business problem, this is what the next generation of silicon storage technologies will enforce.”
Visitors to booth G305 at VMworld Europe are also in for an additional treat, as WHIPTAIL hosts Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Brent Spiner, better known as Data. Signing autographs for fans over the course of the show, Spiner played the android Data on Star Trek and is also known for his roles in Independence Day, the Big Bang Theory and Warehouse 13.
WHIPTAIL will be demonstrating INVICTA at both VMworld Europe and Citrix Synergy. The INVICTA all-Flash silicon storage array is designed to supercharge business critical applications and virtualization while reducing CapEx and OpEx. At VMworld Europe, WHIPTAIL Labs technicians will demonstrate the ludicrous speeds of INVICTA by launching 600 virtual desktops and demonstrating simulated MS SQL workload (SQLio) and IOmeter workloads.
Brent Spiner will be available for autographs during the following times at VMworld Europe: Tuesday, 9 Oct, 2pm-4pm; Wednesday, 10 Oct, 1pm-3pm; Thursday, 11 Oct, 2pm-4pm.
WHIPTAIL commercialized the first NAND Flash Silicon Storage Array (SSA), which dramatically improves application performance while consuming less energy than legacy storage arrays. Installed worldwide, WHIPTAIL’s systems enable databases, virtualized and online environments to process more data in significantly less time. WHIPTAIL’s customers experience substantial operational improvements because data processing time shrinks from days to hours or hours to minutes.
