'Ability To Accomplish The Impossible' Is Most Critical Trait Of Next President, According To Pre-Presidential Debate Survey

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Weighing in prior to this evening's presidential debate, executives and high-net worth Americans say the most important characteristic for being President over the next four years is the "ability to accomplish the impossible." Yet, few respondents polled said it was the number one strength of either candidate. Eight percent said it was President Obama's greatest strength, and six percent Mitt Romney's -- a statistical tie.

The survey, fielded in late September by Korn/Ferry International (NYSE: KFY), a premier global provider of talent management solutions, asked respondents what is the "greatest strength" of each Presidential candidate. In addition, respondents were asked about the most important attribute in being a successful CEO, and the most important attribute in being President of The United States in the next four years.

Behind "ability to accomplish the impossible," (selected by 30 percent of respondents), the second most important trait for a President to have is "honesty and integrity," according to 26 percent of those polled. Nineteen percent of respondents indicate President Obama's greatest strength is "honesty and integrity" versus 11 percent feeling the same for Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney, by far, was given the most credit for being a "great manager who can build a world-class team" at 42 percent vs. just 9 percent for President Obama. Being a great manager was considered the third most important attribute in being President, as indicated by 21 percent of those polled. Being a great manager was overwhelmingly considered the most important attribute for being a CEO, as indicated by 55 percent of respondents.
