GREENBELT, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mission Solutions Engineering, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, and Rowan University of Glassboro, N.J., have established a Rowan Master of Science in computer science program at MSE’s training facility, beginning with the fall 2012 semester. Through the new program, MSE employees will be able to pursue a master’s degree through course work offered on site at the company’s Moorestown, N.J., offices.
In collaborating with Dr. Horacio Sosa, dean of the Rowan University College of Graduate and Continuing Education, and the computer science department, MSE has been given the opportunity to choose courses that will directly enhance its employees’ skill sets and expand their technical knowledge.
“As a technology solutions provider, having partnerships with academia and fostering a culture of continuous learning are necessary to succeed in today’s ever changing business environment,” said Michael Knowles, MSE president. “I am excited to extend our relationship with Rowan and look forward to a successful fall semester for our MSE employees.”
The program is the culmination of MSE support to Rowan that led to the state of New Jersey’s approval of the Master of Science in computer science degree program. MSE launched its collaborative effort with the Rowan University Department of Computer Science in January 2010, awarding the university a contract that provided hands-on software engineering experience to undergraduate and graduate students and established an internship opportunity for participating students. Through its ongoing student-oriented collaboration and the new on-site master’s program for employees, MSE formalized a long-standing relationship with Rowan University.
