HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC (RES), is pleased to announce the award of ecological offset supply by Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC subsidiary (SPL).
RES, the leading provider of wetland and stream mitigation solutions for the U.S. energy industry, worked alongside SPL and their environmental consultant as they executed a multi-year, multi-jurisdictional regulatory approval process under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) that included site permitting and compliance with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
Successful LNG operations require marine access to facilitate economical shipboard import and export. The Sabine Pass LNG terminal is located on 853 acres of land along the Sabine Pass River, on the border between Texas and Louisiana, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The plant is located within and surrounded by dredged material placement area, providing a protective buffer for neighboring environmentally sensitive coastal and estuarine marsh habitats.
This LNG expansion project enables America’s LNG export capability, creates new jobs in Cameron Parish and demonstrates the successful balance of economic development and proactive environmental planning.
Sabine Pass Liquefaction received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in April of 2012 to commence the site expansion project that will initiate export of LNG from the United States.
