David Friend, M.D. Named Chief Clinical Officer of Golden Living

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Golden Living has named David Friend, M.D. to the newly created position of Chief Clinical Officer. In this role, Dr. Friend will oversee the clinical practices within the Golden Living family of companies. He will be responsible for integrating the company’s clinical resources — including medical, nursing, therapy, and pharmacy services — to enhance patient care and maximize the use of Golden Living’s clinical expertise.

As a physician with an M.B.A. degree, Dr. Friend brings a broad range of educational, professional, and business experience to his new leadership position. In addition to his extensive business background, Dr. Friend was a member of the Board of Directors at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine for nine years, where he served as Chair of the Clinical Affairs Committee.

Previously, Dr. Friend was President and Chief Medical Officer of AseraCare, a Golden Living company. Before joining AseraCare, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive of the Palladium Group, the global leader in helping organizations in the areas of strategy, performance management, analytics, and business intelligence.

Dr. Friend earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Brandeis University, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
