– Customers will be able to use SEQR to pay in stores
STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Seamless – traded on Nasdaq OMX (STO:SEAM)– has signed an agreement with electronics chain Kjell & Company which will allow the customers to pay in store using SEQR and their smartphones.
Kjell & Company offers the widest range of home electronic products in the Nordic region via their country-wide network comprising 63 stores and e-trade on www.kjell.com. The company is currently expanding strongly, with sales totalling SEK 684 million in 2011.
“We are very pleased that Kjell & Company has decided to offer its customers the option of paying using SEQR. SEQR continues to attract an increasing number of retailers and users,” explains Seamless CEO, Peter Fredell.
SEQR has in a short time become the object of great appreciation among both merchants and consumers. This is thanks to the fact that the solution evades the high charges of card companies. SEQR is also easy to use and install, and safer than paying by card.
“Our wide range of mobile phone accessories helps identify solutions that further extend smartphone functionality. The new, innovative payment solution SEQR will therefore be ideal for us and provide added value for our customers. We are impressed with how quick and easy it has been to integrate SEQR with our POS system. We believe that SEQR has potential to facilitate payment significantly, while also ensuring a lower cost per transaction,” says Martin Knutson, IT Manager at Kjell & Company.
Seamless is one of the world’s leading providers of payment solutions for mobile phones, handling more than 3.1 billion transactions each year via 525,000 active POSs. Combined with eleven years’ experience and a presence in 26 countries, this gives Seamless and solid position in the mobile payments market. It is the company’s unique transaction platform that makes SEQR possible. Seamless is traded on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, ticker SEAM.
SEQR, developed by Seamless, is the fastest and easiest mobile payments solution currently available on the market. All the customer needs to do is use the SEQR app to scan the QR code at the POS terminal and approve the payment by entering their PIN. SEQR works just as well for physical transactions as for e-commerce, and is both faster and more secure than card payments. The technology behind the solution means that there is no investment cost for retailers. All that is required is a QR code sticker at the POS terminal. In addition, the low transaction charges allow the retailer to save money.
