NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With the first of 2012's presidential debates now in the history books, less than five weeks remain before the 45th president of the United States is named.
If all the campaigning, rhetoric and constant election coverage are taking their toll, there's no better time to escape it all than immediately after your ballot is cast and no better place to escape to than the "One Happy Island" of Aruba. That's why Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino has launched the Elect to Escape promotion, giving travelers the chance to book discounted rates reflective of the percentage lead the leading candidate has in the polls each day.
For example, if President Obama is attracting support from 54 percent of voters nationwide, resort rooms at the adult-exclusive Marina Hotel can be booked at a 54 percent discount on that day. If Mitt Romney surges ahead by 60 percent the following day, the discount will jump to 60 percent. Percentages will be determined by the Gallup Election 2012 Tracking Poll and will be updated daily by 3 p.m. ET on RenaissanceAruba.com, starting this afternoon. Before the discount, rates start at $260 per night, based upon double occupancy.
The "Elect to Escape" rates can be booked now through November 5, for travel from Election Day (November 6) through November 30. Those electing to escape to Aruba will also receive one of Renaissance Aruba's complimentary Political Harmony cocktails.
Reservations can be made at RenaissanceAruba.com using promotional code FLP. To stay up to date on the promotion and all news from Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, "like" the resort on Facebook or follow on Twitter @RenAruba.
