Highlights Magazine's 2012 State of the Kid Survey Results to Be Unveiled on Tuesday, Oct. 9

Survey reveals what kids across the nation want in a president

What: Highlights magazine 2012 State of the Kid (SOTK) results will be announced and discussed amongst a panel of experts moderated by Highlights Editor-in-Chief Christine French Cully. This year's survey was completed by 1,265 children and focused on politics, reading and inclusion.

When: Tuesday, October 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Where: COSI Columbus, 333 W. Broad St.

Other: The Highlights State of the Kid report gives kids from all over the country a national platform to share their views on issues in the news.

This year's survey asked kids questions such as: What is the most important quality in a President? What would you do if you were President? If everyone in the world would listen to you for one day, what would you say? How do you feel about differences in friendships?

Highlights editor-in-chief Christine French Cully will moderate a panel that will include:
Dr. Ribic, Meers, Inc. Consulting Psychologists
Dr. Julie Justice, Assoc. Professor of Literacy at UNC at Chapel Hill
Parenting blogger Amy Lupold Bair, Resourceful Mommy
Education blogger Amy Mascott, TeachMama and WeTeach
Children's author Suzanne Bloom

Additionally, some students from local schools will be in attendance and available for interviews.
