'The Casual Vacancy' tops of U.S. bestseller list

Oct 4 (Reuters) - J.K. Rowling's first adult novel, "The Casual Vacancy," soared to the top of Publishers Weekly's bestseller list on Thursday.

The list is compiled using data from independent and chain bookstores, book wholesalers and independent distributors nationwide.
