Former MySQL Executive Brings More Than 20 Years of Experience to Accelerate Growth of Hortonworks’ Training and Support Services
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hortonworks, a leading contributor to Apache Hadoop projects, today announced that Ulf Sandberg has joined the Company’s executive team as vice president of Services. Sandberg brings more than 20 years of global experience in software engineering and services and will be responsible for helping Hortonworks continue to build and meet the growing demand for its industry-leading services and training support for Apache Hadoop.
Hortonworks University is the expert source for Apache Hadoop training and certification designed by the core leaders and committers of Apache Hadoop. Before SkySQL, Sandberg was senior vice president of MySQL Global Services where he was responsible for MySQL’s worldwide customer services organization, including technical support, training, consulting and certification programs. Sandberg holds a master of science in electrical engineering from Lunds Tekniska Hogskola in Lund, Sweden.
