DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/xrfkng/auo_might_have) has announced the addition of the "AUO might have recently delayed 4.3 AMOLED volume productions to 3Q12" report to their offering.
Our research suggests that AUO might delay its 4.3 qHD OLED panel production schedule from the proposed 2Q12 timeframe to early 3Q12. As far as we understood, AUO is now renovating its G3.5 VTE (vacuum thermal evaporation) system due to the difference of thermal expansion between FMM (fine metal mask) and glass substrate causing misalignment of the RGB sub-pixel forming position. For G4.5 fab, we believe that the phase 1 could enter trial production by 4Q12 and the phase 2 could start tool move-in by 1Q13. As to G6 fab, we believe that both Sony and AUO are developing large-size TVs through full G6 configuration tool and expect to showcase 65 OLED TV in FPD 2012 Yokohama.
1. AUO's G3.5 AMOLED mass production schedule might have been recently postponed to 3Q12.
2. Expecting AUO's G4.5 AMOLED line (Phase 1) to kick off sample production in 3Q12?
3. China-based Tianma and BOE are expected to build up AMOLED lines in 2014.
