JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Web.com, a leading provider of internet services and online marketing solutions for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), will host a free, interactive Small Business Forum designed to help Jacksonville small businesses learn how to be successful on the internet. The forum takes place on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 8 - 10:30 a.m. ET at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach. Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown will attend and provide the opening welcome for attendees.

"We are excited to share our knowledge about what really works online so that small businesses in Northeast Florida can maximize their internet presence," said keynote presenter Jason Teichman, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Web.com. "We think our pointers can make a real difference in small business success, and we look forward to expanding our outreach to local markets across the country."

Teichman will focus on the primary topics that make up a successful internet presence: the elements of a great website, how to determine if your website is 'working' for you, increasing traffic to your website and your business, and de-mystifying how to efficiently market on Google, Facebook and Twitter.

As part of its recently announced agreement with the PGA TOUR, Web.com developed the Web.com Small Business Forum as a way to bring additional benefit to communities where events are held. The Web.com Small Business Forum takes place in conjunction with The Winn-Dixie Open presented by Planters, which will be played October 18-21 at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley Course. The Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open is part of the newly named Web.com Tour.

Teichman continued, "We are excited to be giving back to the communities where the Web.com Tour and PGA TOUR events are played."

"The Web.com Small Business Forum will bring a much-needed resource to the City of Jacksonville and we applaud Web.com for their commitment to serve this important part of our business community," said Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown. "It's gratifying to have Web.com's leadership in our community, as shown through their sponsorship of the Web.com Tour and now the creation of the Web.com Small Business Forum."

The Jacksonville Small Business Forum will be held at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse on Friday, October 19 starting with a continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m., and the program will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. The event concludes at 10:30 am. The event is free to attend, but advance registration is requested at businessforum.web.com. All attendees will receive two (2) passes to the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters.
