European shares turn negative on earnings concerns

LONDON, Oct 9 (Reuters) - European shares gave up early gains and turned negative on Tuesday as persistent concerns over a slowdown in global growth and its impact on corporate earnings weighed on investor sentiment.

At 0730 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares was down 0.2 percent at 1,098.58 points after rising as high as 1,104.04 earlier in the session.
