U.S. stock index futures edged lower on Tuesday, indicating the benchmark S&P index may fall for a third straight session after a warning from the IMF about global growth prospects.

** ALCOA INC , Monday close $9.12, up 0.5 pct post-market

The aluminum company, expected to report third-quarter results after market close, looks likely to scrape by with a thin profit as its transport and aerospace products businesses help compensate for a weak global metal price environment.

** YUM BRANDS , Monday close $66.94,

Analysts expect the restaurant company to post higher third-quarter profit when it reports results on Tuesday.

** CHEVRON CORP , Monday close $117.62

The second-largest U.S. oil company will likely have few highlights to showcase with its interim update on the third quarter on Tuesday.

** PROCTER & GAMBLE CO , Monday close $69.10,

The company will meet shareholders at its annual meeting in Cincinnati before markets open.

** CONTINENTAL RESOURCES INC , Monday close $1.11

The top oil producer in North Dakota's booming Bakken basin will detail its five-year growth plan for investors in Oklahoma City on Tuesday morning.

** ELI LILLY AND CO , Monday close $50.78, up 1.4 pct premarket

The company said its experimental Alzheimer's drug led to a 34 percent reduction in memory decline for patients with mild symptoms over a period of 18 months, giving it potential ammunition to seek approval for the medicine that showed no benefit in more advanced stages of the disease.

** AMAZON.COM INC , Monday close $259.06

The company's deal to purchase streaming movies from cable network Epix could transform the way such deals are done, thanks to a pay-for-performance sweetener that had not been previously disclosed.

The insurer and asset manager said it will buy Chilean pension company AFP Cuprum for about $1.51 billion to expand in emerging markets.

The company said it will buy privately held Rhythmia Medical Inc for $90 million to gain access to its three-dimensional navigation system that assists doctors in performing complex heart procedures on patients with dangerously irregular heart rhythms.

** ANGIODYNAMICS INC , Monday close $12.82, down 4.8 pct post-market

The medical devices maker reported a surprise loss for the first quarter and forecast full-year earnings much below analysts' expectations, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.


The casual dining chain said it was looking into allegations by largest shareholder Biglari Holdings Inc about incoming chairman James Bradford's professional record.
