Under Guzman’s leadership, the CAB will focus on creating a road map for the next generation of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS), which has been used by thousands of companies for trading partner communications for more than two decades and which is now the market’s first consolidated platform for managing and tracking B2B/EDI transaction messages and managed file transfer (MFT) activities. The board will also address potential upgrades and additions to SEEBURGER SAP Solution Extensions, which currently include SAP add-ons that fully integrate order-to-cash and supply chain monitoring processes into the SAP environment.
“David is a widely admired CIO with a reputation as a leader, mentor and visionary. He has repeatedly proven his ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, use technology to drive business growth, and inspire innovation in various environments. As a SEEBURGER customer, he has also demonstrated a deep understanding of how our business integration platform can help advance H. D. Smith’s business,” said Rohit Khanna, EVP, Global Strategy and Corporate Development, SEEBURGER. “Having him at the helm of our Customer Advisory Board sets the stage for generating fresh ideas and insights that will help our customers get even more out of their integration investments.”
As CIO at H. D. Smith, Guzman is responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives to enhance the customer experience, advance the company’s supply-chain and cost-management systems, and improve competitive service to community pharmacies and health systems nationwide.
Guzman’s previous CIO-level experience includes positions at technology, healthcare and retail giants including Axciom, Owens & Minor and Office Depot. At Owens & Minor, he oversaw the development of revenue-generating platforms and services for hospital customers that helped grow the company to an $8 billion healthcare distribution business with two #1 rankings on the InfomationWeek 500 roster.
“SEEBURGER is an important strategic partner in our technology initiatives at H. D. Smith. Chairing their Customer Advisory Board gives me an opportunity to play a role in shaping product enhancements and best practices that will benefit my company as well as other organizations around the world,” Guzman said. “Based on the platform extensions that SEEBURGER has introduced over the past year, the company has a firm commitment to breaking new ground and to listening to the recommendations generated by this board.”
Guzman’s appointment is for a one-year period. The first meeting of the SEEBURGER Customer Advisory Board, consisting of a small group of strategic customers and technical end users, is scheduled for October 23-25 in Chicago.
