BROOKFIELD, Wis., Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Connecture, Inc., the leading provider of Web-based information systems used to create health insurance marketplaces and exchanges,  today announced that Dan Maynard, president at Connecture, will be a panelist at the Milwaukee Software Process Improvement Network's (M-SPIN's) Seventh Annual Evening with the IT Executives.

Connecture's Web-based exchanges and online marketplaces are used by more than half of the 20 largest health plans in the nation, including nearly half of the BlueCross BlueShield plans. More than 25 million Americans shop for their health insurance through systems built by Connecture. The company is also creating exchanges for Maryland and Minnesota and is on the forefront of nationwide efforts to create private health insurance exchanges.

"At Connecture, it's invigorating to leverage the skills that drew us all to software development and IT management to begin with," said Maynard. "We're not working purely to build new technology, but also to create solutions that have the potential to fundamentally impact something as meaningful as healthcare. M-SPIN brings together individuals who understand and appreciate that passion for software engineering. To take part in that dialogue, learn from others and share what we are doing at Connecture is a privilege I wouldn't pass up."

Maynard, who started in the industry as a technologist, has been involved in the health insurance technology industry for 20 years. A co-founder of Connecture –- which plans to hire up to 100 technology professionals this year – Maynard now guides the company's sales, marketing, client service operations and emerging market development.
