FAIRVIEW, N.J., Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey alternative energy supplier Systrum Energy is sponsoring the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk that will be held in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, on Sunday, October 21. Making Strides, organized nationally by the American Cancer Society, is held in cities around the country each October to raise awareness about breast cancer, raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society, and honor breast cancer survivors.
Aside from sponsoring the event, Systrum Energy is also participating in the walk and has raised close to $24,000 in donations to date. In addition to its participation in the event, the New Jersey company has agreed to make a $10 donation for each electric enrollment the company receives on the day of the event and the week following the walk.
"Because many of our loved ones have been affected by breast cancer, we decided to participate in walks, runs, and raise donations to find a cure for breast cancer," Denise Tussi, leader of the Systrum Energy Powering the Cure team, said.
