Restructuring Post-Acute Care: A New Path For Lower Medicare Costs And Enhanced Care Coordination

OnWednesday, October 10, new data will be presented on how the use of clinically appropriate and cost effective post-acute care can result in billions inMedicarecost savings and extend the life of theMedicareprogram. The presentation marks the final report of the Clinically Appropriate and Cost-Effective Placement (CACEP) project, an extensive analysis ofMedicareclaims data which identifies opportunities for improvingMedicareefficiency and bending its cost curve. The project was commissioned by theAlliance for Home Health Quality & Innovation, and conducted byDobson DaVanzo & Associates, LLC.

A panel of leading national policymakers and researchers will discuss the root causes of Medicare inefficiency and how CACEP can help correct it, improve care coordination, and achieve significant program savings. The panel will also address the role that CACEP-oriented policy can play in assisting policymakers as they contemplate sustainable Medicare reform.
