Presidents of Teamsters, AFSCME to Call on Union Members to Take Action
(TOLEDO, OH) – On Thursday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m., Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa and AFSCME President Lee Saunders will speak during a rally at Teamsters Local Union 20 in Toledo, Ohio to make sure members across the state turn out to vote on Nov. 6 and do their part to protect the future of working families in America.
Hundreds of members from the Teamsters and AFSCME will be called on to take action on Nov. 6 by electing candidates that will support working families in Ohio. They will also be urged to 'Vote Yes on Issue 2' – an amendment on the Nov. ballot that creates a set of common sense redistricting rules that require fair representation by both parties while making sure the average citizen's voice is heard.
The Teamsters Union endorsed President Barack Obama for re-election earlier this year.
