Research and Markets: Amazon Recently Revised Down New 6 Kindle Production Forecast by 50% in 2H12

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/tbw3cc/amazon_recently) has announced the addition of the "Amazon recently revised down new 6 Kindle production forecast by ~50% in 2H12" report to their offering.

Based on our previous research, Amazon is about to launch two next-generation devices of 6 Kindle, codenamed Sauza and Celeste, scheduled to enter mass production in May'12. However, it seems that Amazon might have recently delayed their mass production schedule to 3Q12 and revised down overall production forecast by -50% with Foxconn in 2H12. In our view, old 6 Kindle (Tequila and Whitney models) end demand appears to be weaker than expected and this may push Amazon to slow down new product launch schedule and to reduce overall demand forecast. Also, we concern that upcoming 7 Kindle Fire 2 may cannibalize new 6 Kindle (Sauza and Celeste) demand in 2H12.

Isaiah's Key Takeaways from Our Research:

1. Amazon delayed new 6 Kindle product launch and adjust down demand forecast in 2H12.

2. Kindle supply chain may inevitably suffer significant downside from 2Q12.

3. Expecting Amazon's current Kindle models to be EOL during 2Q-3Q12.
