Efforts have been made to improve both the number and spending power of overseas buyers attending the Fair. Invitations have been sent to buyers to draw their visits to the trade show. Steps have been taken to attract more high-end customers and companies, and the spectrum of channels used for communication with potential buyers - such as social network and videos - has been diversified. In line with the Canton Fair's objective of stimulating both imports and exports, the calibre of exhibitions in the International Pavilion has also been improved.

The Canton Fair continues to assist companies attending the event with marketing and business strategy. The Canton Fair Product Design and Trade Promotion Center (PDC) regularly holds events such as image and branding shows. Keynote forums will also be held at the Fair, discussing product design and brand marketing strategies, as well as industry trends. An international market forum with the title "Grasping New Opportunities in Brazil" will assist enterprises take advantage of new opportunities in this emerging economy.

"Over the course of its 50-year history, the Canton Fair has always adapted well to changing market conditions," says Wang Zhiping, Director of China's Foreign Trade Center. "In the face of a tough economic climate we must host a more professional, competitive and productive Fair. On the eve of this great event, I have full confidence that this is what we shall achieve, and look forward to warmly welcoming all attendees."
