DETROIT, Oct. 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced that it has once again achieved recognition as a "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" in the Detroit region. This marks the company's 12th straight recognition for the award. Through the awards, the Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA) annually honors leading Michigan companies committed to innovative human resource practices that create great places to work.

"Compuware people and software make technology make a difference – for our customers, our employees and the community," said Bob Paul, Compuware Chief Executive Officer. "And to make a difference, we must continue to recruit and retain the very best talent in our industry. Achieving 101 Best status for the 12th consecutive year shows that we have succeeded at creating an attractive, performance-driven culture, sustained by empowered employees working in an innovative environment."

Nominated companies completed a human resources questionnaire, and randomly selected employees took a confidential survey about their work environment. An independent research firm evaluates each company's entry based on key measures in various categories. The categories include compensation, benefits and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection and orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work-life balance; community initiatives; strategic company performance and more.

"This year's honorees have clearly demonstrated why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work. Companies that capitalize on their greatest resource—their employees—know how to attract and retain top talent," said Jennifer Kluge, MBPA president. "The selection, recognition and awarding of this year's 101 companies allows our organization to showcase their best practices and we are proud to offer them a venue to do this."

Compuware provides comprehensive perks and benefits, including: company-paid life and disability insurance, comprehensive medical and dental plans, flexible work arrangements, 401k match and an employee stock purchase plan. The company actively works to support its employees' work/life balance by offering resources such as worldwide wellness programs, dependent- and elder-care reimbursement accounts, an employee referral program and much more. Employees who work at or visit Compuware's Detroit headquarters enjoy an onsite gourmet cafeteria, commuter assistance program, state-of-the art wellness and child development centers, a physician and chiropractor office, physical therapy and dry cleaning services as well as access to numerous onsite retailers.
