Canadian Q2 and Q1 labor productivity revised to meet new rules

Oct 12 - (Reuters) Canadian productivity declined 0.5 percent in the second quarter of 2012, a bigger decrease than the 0.4 percent drop initially reported, according to historical revisions released by Statistics Canada on Friday.

The percent change of productivity in Canadian businesses was revised up from 0.0 percent to an increase of 0.4 percent in the first quarter.

The change to the quarterly pattern of Canada's labor productivity of businesses in 2012 shifted slightly as a result of revisions Statscan made to comply with updated international standards.
