FONTANA, Calif. -- Firefighters say the roof of a motorcycle warehouse in Fontana collapsed after a foot of rain water backed up behind clogged drains.
San Bernardino County firefighters were called about 5 p.m. Thursday, after a heavy downpour.
Part of the roof fell 20 feet into the ceiling of the office, which is connected to the warehouse. The impact pushed file cabinets and other equipment into the parking lot.
No one was hurt.
Firefighters estimate damages at $200,000.
During the worst of the rain in Southern California Thursday afternoon, lightning set a Rancho Cucamonga home on fire and water flooded a few homes. Traffic accidents increased and a mudslide closed the Eastern Avenue off-ramp of westbound Interstate 10.
There was also snow in the mountains.
Scattered rain was forecast Friday.
