“I’m honored to be a part of the ABIA Board of Directors,” says Schubert. “On previous boards, I was active in lobbying on Capitol Hill and at various Federal Agencies, so my experience lends itself well to the current regulatory issues that financial institutions face today. I look forward to working with the other ABIA board members to find ways to address the challenges of marketing insurance through banks and providing options for consumers to protect their families.”
In his role at Transamerica, Schubert is responsible for strategic partnerships with financial institutions; primarily credit card issuers, credit unions and banks in the United States and Canada. As Business Unit Leader, he oversees all aspects of the business including strategic planning, sales and marketing, financial performance, and channel management. Schubert joined Transamerica in 2004 as Vice President of Marketing. Prior to joining Transamerica, Schubert led Bank of America's Insurance Direct Marketing Group, where he was responsible for strategy development, execution, and the results attained through direct marketing channels. During his time at Bank of America, he championed business change initiatives that shifted the internal focus from product and channel, to customer. He earned a Green Belt designation in Six Sigma for his work on customer retention and served as champion for his division’s first Black Belt project.
Schubert received an MBA from Duke University, where he completed the Executive MBA program. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine where he served as Student Body President. Schubert is a former member of the board of directors for the American Teleservices Association (ATA), where he served as Treasurer and is currently on the board of the Consumer Credit Industry Association (CCIA) as well as the CCIA Executive Committee.
