The corn harvest advanced 21 percentage points to 84 percent complete, well ahead of last year's pace and the five-year average. The sugar beet crop was 68 percent harvested, far ahead of last year but about the same as the five-year average.

About 61 percent of the sunflower crop was harvested, gaining 28 percentage points from a week earlier.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 27 percent very poor, 38 percent poor, 28 percent fair and 7 percent good.
