Kratos Awarded Navy Network Training Development Contract Valued at Approximately $1 Million

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced that it has been selected by the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) to provide training development for Basic Network Training and Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), a contract valued at approximately $1 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Kratos will validate existing Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA) and Front End Analysis (FEA) data for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) training. Kratos will leverage content efficiencies and utilize R3 (reuse, repurpose and reference) strategies between these two related training development efforts to develop innovative blended training solutions for the Navy. The Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant blended training will include Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Level II and III Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) designed to provide sailors with opportunities to learn procedures as well as practice higher level cognitive skills in the areas of problem-solving and decision-making.

"Kratos is proud to be able to continue our rich history of providing C4I training solutions for the Navy," said Dan Dunaway, Senior Vice President of Kratos Training Solutions. "The blend of ILT and IMI will provide sailors an instructionally optimal training solution to develop and fine-tune their increasingly critical network skills. Our goal is to support the U.S. Navy's objective of improving overall readiness and performance around Information Dominance Warfare Systems in today's connected environment."

The contract announcement continues a string of recent wins for Kratos' training group, coming on the recent news of the Kratos contract award from the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) to provide training development and delivery for the U.S. Naval Chaplaincy School and Center (NCSC), a contract valued at $1.5 million.
