WASHINGTON, Dec. 10, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) proudly announces the appointment of outstanding national leaders to its Board of Directors. These six new directors represent the very best leadership in corporate America and the Hispanic business community.
"The appointment of our new board members signals another outstanding year of growth and prosperity for our organization. With the addition of their expert leadership, the USHCC will continue to expand the breadth and depth of its mission," says USHCC Chairman Marc Rodriguez.
The new board members include: Carmen Lonstein, Partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP, Yolanda Maria Martinez, Founder & CEO and of Respira Medical, Roger Marrero, Managing Director at The ComVest Group, Cesar Melgoza, Co-Founder & President of Geoscape, Tony Quintero, Chairman of the National Financial Services Consortium, LLC. and Peter Villegas, Vice President, Senior Manager at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Carmen Lonstein is a partner at Baker & McKenzie and chair of the firm's Financial Restructuring, Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Group in North America. She has more than 23 years of experience and has been named a Leading Lawyer in Illinois from 2006 to 2011. Ms. Lonstein is a board member of the Illinois Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, a trustee of the Illinois Arts Council and a trustee on the board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. She is a founder of the Chicago Chapter of the International Confederation of Women Insolvency Lawyers (IWIRC) and is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Turnaround Management Association.
Yolanda Maria Martinez is the founder and CEO of Respira Medical, a respiratory and durable medical equipment company started in the spring of 2001. Today, Respira Medical is becoming one of the largest providers of clinical respiratory services, sleep medicine and home medical equipment in the Mid-Atlantic Region. She was appointed by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to serve as Chair for the Governor's Commission on Hispanic Affairs, the Regulatory Oversight Commission, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the Maryland Auto Insurance Fund. She was appointed by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to serve on the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board. Ms. Martinez is Region V Chair.
Roger Marrero is a Partner at Comvest Partners. He has led investments in a variety of industry sectors, including healthcare, business services, media, communications, and information services. He is responsible for all key aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight, and he is also a member of the Investment Committee. Previously, Mr. Marrero was a Principal with ABRY Partners, and Apax Partners, both leading private equity funds in Boston and New York City. Mr. Marrero received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA and BA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Cesar Melgoza is Co-Founder and President of Geoscape. After having fulfilled key roles at two Silicon Valley firms — Apple and Strategic Mapping — César founded Geoscape to create actionable insights for an increasingly diverse American and international marketplace. Mr. Melgoza has served on the advisory boards of Florida International University's International MBA program and Barry University's Andreas School of Business. He is a board member of Florida State University's Center for Hispanic Marketing Communications and is the original investor and a board member of EcoNet Ventures/Latinum Network and a member of the prestigious New America Alliance. Mr. Melgoza is Region VI Chair.
Tony Quintero has been the Chairman of the National Financial Services Consortium, LLC since October 2008. He has also served as the Chairman of the National Immigration Reform Advocates since January 2012. The organization advocates for immigration reform, the Dream Act, and the humane treatment of the undocumented living in the U.S. He has served as Vice Chairman of the New America Alliance, Inc., Co-Chairman of the Hispanic Leadership Council of the Democratic National Committee and President and CEO of American Regional Malls, LLC.
Peter R. Villegas is Vice President and Senior Manager in the Office of Corporate Responsibility for JPMorgan Chase where he also serves as Co-Chair of the Global Adelante Board, the JPMorgan Chase Latino Business Resource Group which has over 25 chapters globally and over 7,000 members. He has 23 years of experience in the financial industry and has spent the last 15 years in key management positions. Mr. Villegas is a board member U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council Steering Committee, Central City Association, Vice Chair of MALDEF, USC Latino Alumni Association, American Israel Public Affairs Committee National Council, The Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs, the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce Jobs Pac. Mr. Villegas is Region I Chair.
