Southern Hospitality Gets in the Spirit of Giving

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Southern Hospitality Development Corporation (OTCQB:RIBS), a developer of southern, Memphis style barbeque restaurants, today announced its sponsorship of Lift Up America's annual drive to feed the hungry during the holiday season.

Southern Hospitality and its ten employee volunteers, alongside event partners Tyson Foods and Kroenke Sports Charities, worked with Lift Up America to donate 30,000 pounds of protein, which was distributed to more than 50 local food agencies. Distribution commenced December 13th at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

An estimated 5.7 million people receive emergency food assistance each week, and more than one in every three households experience very low food security, according to the 2010 Hunger in America Report. Lift Up America has established a unique partnership with professional and college sports teams from across the U.S., to create awareness of the needs that exist within our country, and to encourage leaders from all walks of life to come together in creative, compassionate ways to address those needs.
