HOUSTON, Jan. 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tieuel Legacy! Motion Pictures writer, editor, and director, Shawnré Tieuel is preparing a web series to star BlogTalkRadio host "DC" The Comedian Hartwell. The series titled, "Mailman Leroy" follows the blue collar adventures of a group of comedians and actors from Houston. It is on track to join Tieuel Legacy's current content on websites such as Houston's Voice. "Mailman Leroy" aims to portray the Texas take on comedy in the style of TV series such as "In Living Color" and "Saturday Night Live."
Other content from Tieuel Legacy! Motion Pictures includes music performances shot in Midtown Houston. In addition, their indie series "Transparent" features interviews and trailers for the "Lenox Avenue" web series, which is described as the "male 'Sex in the City'."
Tieuel's inspirations include filmmakers such as Tyler Perry, Spike Lee, and Quentin Tarantino. The Lufkin, Texas born University of Texas graduate and former financial advisor decided to pursue his filmmaking dream full time in 2008. Tieuel hopes to be a part of the filmmaking renaissance that he sees heading toward Houston. He believes the city can be an alternative to Hollywood, and host large budget productions as cities like Atlanta, Albuquerque, and Austin have done in recent years.
Tieuel hopes projects like the "Mailman Leroy" series will help his comedians on the show find success. He also hopes his work is valued and recognized during his lifetime. "I want to smell my flowers while I'm living," says Tieuel. "I want to put my people on the map." Tieuel plans to produce at least three motion pictures each year.
