HANOVER, Md., March 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KEYW Corporation (Nasdaq:KEYW) today announced that Joe Gottlieb, Mitch Lawrence and Chris Ford were recognized for their contributions to the security industry in the 2013 Info Security's Global Excellence Awards program. The awards ceremony, which took place Wednesday, February 27 at the Hilton San Francisco, honors organizations and individuals that set the standard for innovation in the security industry. Joe Gottlieb, Vice President of KEYW's Global Security Solutions Sector, and Mitch Lawrence, Director of Security, were named Silver and Bronze award winners, respectively, for the People Shaping Info Security category, and Chris Ford, Director of Client Support, won the Silver award in the Support and Customer Satisfaction category.
"Organizations turn to KEYW for our ability to solve the cybersecurity problems that other providers can't and we look for talented individuals who have the drive and insight to address these unique challenges," commented Ed Jaehne, Chief Strategy Officer of KEYW Corporation. "We congratulate Joe, Mitch and Chris for their recognition by Info Security's Global Excellence Awards and we look forward to continuing to lead the industry in innovative solutions that address today's toughest security requirements."
Joe Gottlieb is an advocate for open data access and analysis in the security industry. With more than 15 years of experience in the security industry working at organizations such as Nokia, McAfee and Sensage, Joe Gottlieb is leading the conversation on the standards the industry must embrace to help security teams optimize their security management processes. As part of this initiative, he helped found the Open Security Intelligence community, a consortium for security practitioners to communicate and share best practices, report and dashboard templates, queries and more.
As an industry veteran with over 30 years of security experience, Mitch Lawrence is recognized for his understanding of government demands and commercial needs. Lawrence leveraged this understanding during his time as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Industrial Security Working Group (ISWG) to improve communications and implement information sharing initiatives between industry and government. In addition, Lawrence considers cyber education an essential objective in his role at KEYW and regularly engages in companywide communications and initiatives to increase employee cyber awareness.
Chris Ford was also recognized in Info Security's Global Excellence Awards' Support and Customer Satisfaction category for the customer service initiatives he led. It is his responsibility to identify employees with the skill sets necessary to perform data analytics and anticipate future threats. Ford frequently works with customers to establish a baseline of users' regular, business-focused activities, and identify whenever there is a deviation. By analyzing historic patterns of users, these customers are able to better assess what constitutes routine behaviors and what represents a risk-producing deviation.
