Jane Mendillo

Jane Mendillo leads the firm managing Harvard University's $35 billion portfolio consisting of the endowment and related assets. Prior to rejoining Harvard Management Company in mid-2008, she was chief investment officer at Wellesley College.

Mendillo also served as one of HMC's senior investment officers from 1987-2002, managing investments in equities, alternative assets and natural resources, including the university's first investments in timberland. She received the 100 Women in Hedge Funds 2007 Leadership Award for her "talent, ethics, and passion, which help define the industry's standard of excellence." In 2008 and 2009 she was one of Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women.

Mendillo, who earned her B.A. and M.B.A. at Yale University, serves on the investment committees at the Rockefeller Foundation and at Partners HealthCare. Mendillo is married to environmentalist Ralph Earle and has two children.
