CINCINNATI, March 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SoMoLend Holdings, LLC announces its CEO, Candace Klein, has been selected to speak at the Innovative Investing Symposium 2013 at the Crowdfund Investors and Workshop on April 5. The Soho Loft in partnership with Thomson Reuters is hosting the event at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston, MA.
Klein will be sharing insights about the history of crowdfunding, where it stands today and what the future holds. As the Co-President of Crowdfunding Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CIFRA), founding member of the Crowdfund Professional Association, and founder and CEO of SoMoLend, a leading debt-based crowdfunding platform, Klein offers a unique perspective on crowdfunding. Klein will also discuss the market opportunities and the current state of regulatory affairs.
"This is a crucial period for the crowdfunding industry," says Candace Klein, founder and chief executive officer of SoMoLend. "The time is now to move the regulations for crowdfunding to public comment," adds Klein.
Other speakers on the panel include: Vince Molinari, CEO of Gate Technologies, DJ Paul, CSO of Gate Technologies, Ryan Feit, CEO of SeedInvest, Chance Barnett, CEO of Crowdfunder, and Maurice Lopes, founder of Early Shares.
"Candace has been instrumental in getting regulators and the industry to understand the positive impact crowdfunding can have as an alternative funding and investment platform as well as best practices to ensure success," says David Drake, chief executive officer of The Soho Loft and LDJ Capital.
Klein founded SoMoLend in 2011 when she saw the need for small business to have alternative funding options. The SoMoLend crowdfunding platform enables small businesses to secure loans from customers, friends, family, accredited investors and institutional lenders, which is made possible by the JOBS Act signed into law in April 2012.
