Episode 2 on NBC Fashion Star: Designer Silvia Arguello's 'Sex Sells' Piece Shines as Saks Fifth Avenue Places Winning Bid for the Second Time Around

LOS ANGELES, March 18, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tonight's Episode 2 outcome marks the second week that Silvia Argüello's piece sells to Saks Fifth Avenue. Following Fashion Star's Episode 1 Season Premiere, Saks Fifth Avenue Executive Vice-President and Chief Creative Officer Terron Schaefer remarked on his respect for Argüello when he stated, "I first met Silvia in Milan at Italian Vogue Who's on Next competition and I was very impressed then—and now."

The winning piece entitled "The Drape Dress," was created out of Argüello's inspiration for women who are willing to defy the status quo and stay true to their personal style. "When it comes to being sexy, I feel a woman doesn't need to reveal all that she has… never too much and always in the right places," Argüello said in a briefing prior to tonight's Episode 2 airing.

The designer's attention to details and keen eye for fabrics is evident on the sophisticated dress, constructed with 3 different silks in a nude color palette with contrasting black inserts. The delicate draping frames the figure and the low exposed back flatters any woman's body.

"The feel is essential, the natural look is effortless, and the mystery behind who's wearing it makes the piece a winning combination of timeless and sexy," concluded Argüello. The piece is slated to go up for sale on Saks.com after the episode airs at 9p.m. pacific. Viewers will be able to tune into the next episode of Fashion Star on Friday, March 22nd at 8/7c to watch Argüello compete on the upcoming "One for All" challenge in Episode 3.
