Investors ‘Panicking’ Into Stocks: Pro

Volatility expected in the spring and summer makes a few sectors more attractive, Alison Deans of Varick Asset Management said Tuesday.

"People are getting into the market. I think they're panicking in, to some degree," she said on CNBC's "Fast Money."

Deans said that the market could be setting up for a pullback.

"I think 5 or 10 percent and maybe a lot of volatility throughout the spring and summer," she added.

Her top sectors included: Small caps, technology, industrials, materials and regional banks.

"My sense is if we're going to go through a choppy, volatile period, it's a time to start getting into the market and buying some of these names that are more cyclical in their orientations," she said.

Deans also said that she expected economic growth to start improving domestically as headwinds from Washington taper off.

The headwinds could come in the form of more bad news from Europe, as well as possibly the seasonal sell-in-May dip, she added.

"There's seasonality that's on the bad news front as well," Deans added.
