Indulge in Sarasota County's Culinary Scene During Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week, June 1 - 14

SARASOTA, Fla., April 24, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It is time for food lovers and epicureans from Florida and beyond to rejoice as Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week returns June 1 – 14, 2013. Hosted by VISIT SARASOTA COUNTY (VSC), this culinary celebration is in its eighth year spotlighting special-priced lunch and dinner menus at more than 37 participating restaurants, from fine dining to casual beach cafés and eclectic urban eateries. With Florida's highest concentration of Zagat-rated restaurants, there's no better time to see what's cooking in Sarasota County.

Throughout this year's Savor Sarasota event, guests can enjoy $29 pre-fixe dinner menus from the destination's acclaimed restaurants. Three-course lunch menus are also offered for just $15, allowing visitors to sample eclectic offerings for every palate. Highly-esteemed chefs serve up authentic Peruvian and Italian cuisine, fresh Gulf seafood, delectable vegetarian dishes, modern American fare and much more.

New participating restaurants join annual favorites to offer patrons delectable dining experiences. New participants this year include The Blue Rooster in downtown Sarasota; a long-standing Sarasota favorite Barnacle Bill's Seafood; a modern downtown café, Café Americano; Cosimo's Restaurant offering classic Italian and American favorites; Darwin's on 4th serving authentic Peruvian fare; Pomona Bistro & Wine Bar, an upscale bistro serving hand-selected organic produce; and Miguel's, offering French continental fare on Siesta Key.

Among the returning restaurants are favorites such as the Bijou Café, Café L'Europe and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, all offering exquisite fare in elegant ambience; the outdoor urban eatery, Mattison's City Grille; Libby's Café & Bar, a fashionable neighborhood establishment serving modern twists on American classics; and the casual yet elegant waterfront restaurant in Venice, the Crow's Nest.
