WASHINGTON, April 30, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Primrose Schools, a nationally accredited private preschool franchise with more than 250 locations across the country, announced plans to open 10 new schools throughout Washington, D.C. in the next five years. Company executives identified Woodbridge, Germantown, Reston and Rockville, Va., for expansion after uncovering a shortage of high-quality child care providers in these areas.
Two Primrose schools are already open in Ashburn with four additional locations under development in South Riding, Manassas, Chantilly and Bristow.
Primrose Schools will offer its exclusive Balanced Learning® System, which addresses multiple aspects of growth and learning: social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical skills. The program, designed for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, includes a blend of child-initiated and teacher-guided activities with an emphasis on age-appropriate literacy, math and character development skills.
"The Primrose experience is all about providing the right foundation for our children and peace of mind for their parents," said Darin Harris, COO of Primrose School Franchising Company. "We do this through our caring and nurturing culture, our distinct curriculum, our adherence to the highest standards of excellence in education and our partnership with parents. In order to bring a premier educational child care experience to the Washington, D.C. area, we are recruiting franchise owners who share our vision, values, love for children and dedication to high quality early childhood education."
Primrose executives are actively scouting real estate throughout the area and meeting with aspiring business owners to independently own and operate the new schools. Each Primrose school location will positively impact the local economy by creating approximately 25-30 new jobs and awarding approximately $2 million to $2.5 million in local development contracts.
Primrose Schools expects to award another 30 schools in 2013, growing to approximately 312 schools nationwide by the end of 2014.
