MOUNT VERNON, N.Y., May 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Key Digital® is proud to introduce its first complete system solution, Compass Control®, brought to fruition by Key Digital® and the Compass Alliance™ Partners (CAP). Compass Control® represents the first fully integrated major control system built from the ground up to use Apple's iOS devices – iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod touch® – as its backbone.
Key Digital®, in conjunction with Compass Alliance™ Partners (CAP), has created a fully integrated control system with driver support for hardware from the following brands: Access Networks, ADA, Aprilaire, Ashly, Autonomic, Boston Acoustics®, ClearOne®, Cloud, Denon, Furman, HAI, ICRealtime Security Solutions®, Integra, iPort®, JVC Professional, Kaleidescape, Key Digital, LG, Lutron®, Luxul, Marantz®, MechoShade, Onkyo®, Optoma, Pakedge, Panamax, Primeview, Polycom, Request, Russound®, RCI Custom, Sharp, Sonance, SurgeX, Vidabox, Wolfvision®, and YCD Multimedia. Combining the knowledge and expertise from the different CAP brands has allowed Compass Control® to develop into a complete turnkey for commercial control solution.
Key Digital® and Compass Control® provide complete AV system solutions through Key Digital's award-winning product portfolio of HDMI switchers, HDMI matrix switchers, HDMI baluns, analog switchers, CAT6/STP cabling, HDMI cables, HDMI boosters, HDMI distribution amplifiers, and video processors. Compass Control® provides full integration for all of these devices to create a comprehensive and reliable system for a boardroom or even a retail environment requiring extensive digital signage.
For additional needs, such as HVAC, lighting, and shade control, Compass Control's partners Aprilaire, Lutron®, and Mecho-Shade have provided a full range of products to integrate with Compass Control®. Full audio integration has been provided for by Compass Control's audio partners Boston Acoustics®, Denon®, Integra®, Marantz®, Onkyo®, and Russound®. From speakers to receivers, 2 channel audio to Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, and everything in between, Compass Control® is fully integrated with the latest in audio distribution hardware.
Professional AV is also catered to by Wolfvision and Primeview with support for document cameras and digital signage displays. Security is covered by Compass Control® partner ICRealtime, providing real integration for DVRs and security cameras. For IP connectivity and Wi-Fi expertise, Compass Control® partners Luxul and Pakedge contributed networking equipment to allow the Compass Control® App to talk to the KD-MC2500 Master Control.
Today, many companies have conference rooms, which require the use of video conferencing in order to create or even global reach with their brands. ClearOne enabled Compass Control® to harness the power of video conferencing and integrate it into a unified system. Finally, Panamax, Furman, and SurgeX gave Compass Control® the ability to maintain power management with ease.
The Compass Alliance™ Partners have come together to make Compass Control® the most comprehensive control system on the current market by creating a system that has full driver integration already complete by the time the system is ready to be activated in the client's installation.
Compass Control® has the ability to control devices via RS-232, IR, or via TCP/IP. This new control system provides installers with bi-directional IR, two-way RS-232 with feedback, and two-way TCP/IP control for unlimited flexibility and maximum compatibility with new or existing devices. Network connectivity solutions are provided by Pakedge with its advanced wired and wireless routers. Compass Control® also provides control via relays and sensors demonstrating its nature as a powerful integration tool. When programming the system via the Compass Navigator® PC editor software, installers are given three separate database managers to make programming faster than traditional control systems. Compass Navigator® also enables installers to edit command code sets, which allows Compass Control® to be tailored to each and every system installation. Compass Control® is comprised of four main components: the iPad®/iPhone®/iPod® touch, the KD-MC2500 master controller, the KD-CSL Compass Control® Software License (which activates the system), and the optional KD-WPCW/KD-WCPB wall plates.
Key Digital Vice President of Sales, Michael Lakhter, commented on Compass Control's readiness to take on market challenges: "With the combined efforts of all of our Compass Alliance™ Partners, Compass Control® represents the culmination of our efforts to create the most powerful, most user-friendly, and most comprehensive control system available on the market today."
Key Digital® will be displaying Compass Control® at InfoComm 2013 in the Booth #3181. For more information on Compass Control®, visit http://keydigital.com/compass.
