Simon Button Named London Market Chief Underwriting Officer for HCC International

HOUSTON, June 7, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) today announced the promotion of Simon Button to Chief Underwriting Officer for HCC International Insurance Company PLC and Lloyd's Syndicate 4141 (known collectively as HCC International), reporting to HCC International's Chief Executive Officer Barry J. Cook.

"Simon's promotion is the result of his outstanding performance and our confidence in his ability to lead our underwriting efforts across HCC's London Market business lines," stated Mr. Cook.

Mr. Button started with HCC in 2000. He has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including extensive energy underwriting and reinsurance experience. Most recently, Mr. Button was the Head of Energy and Marine Underwriting.
