SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fujitsu today announced general availability of U-Scan® version 4.7 self-checkout software that features a technology upgrade and new features that will benefit retailers in a competitive market. The Fujitsu U-Scan 4.7 enhancements have been developed to support future Fujitsu product innovations.
This new software release improves on the existing U-Scan technology by adding customer personalization with support of the My U-Scan™ mobile application, support of Windows Embedded POSReady 7 and customer station check processing. The upgrade is designed and tested for backwards compatibility with all currently supported U-Scan hardware product versions including NextGen, U-Scan Genesis® self-checkout and other self-checkout competitors.
Fujitsu U-Scan version 4.7 software also enables retailers to accommodate single or multiple mobile attendants in a cluster. Consumer benefits include enhancements to coupon detection, produce and bagging features. This new version is helping retailers enhance U-Scan product stability, usability and overall operation. Specific product features that are being introduced include:
- User Interface Upgrades: Customers can easily navigate grocery commands and process transactions without delays.
- Automated Software Maintenance (ASM) Upgrades: Updates improve a security warning when an ASM update control is launched by a non-administrative user and ASM database rollback support.
- System Management Upgrades: The updated software removes the outdated framework and enhances cash payment timeout.
