RHR International Salutes David Cote -- 2013 Chief Executive of the Year

CHICAGO, July 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Honeywell Chairman and CEO David Cote has been named "2013 Chief Executive of the Year," an honor bestowed upon an outstanding corporate leader, nominated and selected by a group of his or her peers. The award will be presented tonight at an invitation-only event hosted by NYSE Euronext and the Chief Executive Group at the New York Stock Exchange. Prior winners include David Novak, Bill Gates, Jack Welch, Michael Dell, A.G. Lafley, John Chambers, Anne Mulcahy, Larry Bossidy, Andy Grove and Herb Kelleher.

Nominations for CEO of the Year were garnered from among the 124,000 readers of Chief Executive magazine. The 10 most frequently cited nominations were evaluated and a winner voted upon at a meeting of a peer Selection Committee, which took place earlier this year at the NYSE in New York City.

According to J.P. Donlon, Editor-in-Chief of Chief Executive magazine, "David Cote has distinguished himself as a transformational leader who overcame Honeywell's dysfunctional culture while re-energizing it with a strategy of unifying ideas and path breaking technologies."

The 2013 CEO of the Year Selection Committee was comprised of Dan Glaser (CEO, Marsh & McLennan), Fred Hassan (Chairman, Bausch & Lomb; Partner, Warburg Pincus), William Hickey (CEO, Sealed Air), Christine Jacobs (CEO, Theragenics), Tamara Lundgren (CEO, Schnitzer Steel), Bob Nardelli (CEO, XLR-8), David Novak (CEO, Yum! Brands), William R. Nuti (CEO, NCR), Jeffrey Sonnenfeld (CEO, The Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute), and James Turley (CEO, Ernst & Young).

Dr. Thomas J. Saporito, Chairman and CEO of RHR International, advised the Selection Committee. He worked closely with the group to come to a comprehensive conclusion with a process that was methodical, thorough and based on science.
